Deployment Gifts For Our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen And Marines

For most of us receiving a gift at any time, especially for a specific occasion creates a wonderful sense of being loved and cherished by those we hold dear to us. Now think for a moment that we are living away from home and you receive a gift, I guess you would be delighted and happy. Now think for a moment of all those fine brave men and women who make up our Navy, Marines, National Guard, Reserve and Coast Guard who are deployed to such places as Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan, how must they feel when they receive a deployment gift from back home. Following on from here we will give you some idea about what might be appropriate for deployment gifts from troops away from home.

Deployment Gifts for Soldiers.

Your daughter or son is away and you miss them terribly and you want to send them something from home, it may be a piece of jewellery or a nice piece of homemade cake that you know they loved when under your roof back home. What a lovely idea, but don’t rush into anything as there are quite a few things to consider. The customs of both the United States and the host country where your loved one has been deployed may have restrictions on what can be sent and what can be received.

The first thing you should do is consult with United States customs and also with your liaison officer in the military who I’m sure will be able to help you. They will at least point you in the right direction to get the proper advice and assistance. A wonderful deployment gift is a beautifully engraved deployment sword or custom military rings with all the details of the deployment on it, these make a unique deployment gift.

Deployment Gifts for Officers Those wonderful men and women that we expect will direct and guide our troops safely through the campaigns of Iraq and Afghanistan can also be given a deployment gift such as a sword or custom military ring with the campaign details on it and the name of the officer engraved on it to personalize the gift further. There is a vast amount of side emblems available from the range of military rings that we carry in our online shop.

Creating a Perfect Deployment Gift. There is no hard and fast rule as to what makes up a deployment gift, but do consider something that will remind the service member of the home, it does not have to be big and brash as it will be difficult for them to haul it around. A book is always well received and also the family ring with the Coat of Arms engraved on it or the military ring or military pendant as these can be worn and will be a constant reminder that they belong to a military unit or family unit.

Don’t forget that these brave warriors are full of pride so when you are thinking of a deployment gift think of something that will give them the opportunity to display that pride. Marine Corps Rings as a deployment gift is always a good option for Marines as it's small and is allowed to be sent easily through customs without attracting huge duties.

National Guard And The Resesrves

Some are soldiers in the Army, some are airmen in the Air Force others are sailors in the Navy and more are Marines. Men and women serving in the traditional, regular branches of the military knew that there was a good chance they would be sent to Iraq at some point during their service.

U.S. National Guard

But many of the soldiers, sailors and airmen in the Iraq combat sector are serving in the National Guard or the Reserve, not the regular armed forces. They didn't necessarily anticipate being deployed to Iraq. But there they are, all of them, regular and auxiliary, well more than 100,000 of them.

Deployed to Iraq There's an excellent chance that each one of us knows at least one of them, is related to one of them, or that one of them has somehow touched our life. They are fighting shoulder-to-shoulder through each deployment. The soldiers, sailors and airmen serving in Iraq are a multi-national force, fighting to overcome their ruthless adversaries. They've been doing it for more than many years now.

It's not easy
On the contrary, it's both dangerous and difficult, filled with surprise attacks and enemies that are difficult to distinguish from civilians. In the end, our gallant heroes will prevail, but not before each one of those soldiers, sailors and airmen, along with loved ones, has made sacrifices. The same is true for the veterans of the Iraq war, those not currently deployed but who served there bravely. Some returned injured, others not, but wounded or not, each was affected by his or her time in the battle zone.

Do not forget them. The men and women of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom serve with honour, dignity and courage in the face of some of the most difficult conditions imaginable every day.
  • They deserve our support and appreciation.
  • And they need it more than you could possibly imagine.
  • You can show them support and appreciation by giving the military gifts.
  • They'll be cherished by the military men or women in your life.
  • Military gifts are affordable and tastefully respectful, and that's exactly how it should be.
  • Those men and women don't care how much money you spend on gifts - it's the thought that counts.
  • It's important that they know you're thinking of them and supporting them each step of the way.
  • Military gifts are available online for every branch of service.
  • All of them are selected to match what military men and women would like to receive.
There's no time like the present.
Those men and women are in harm's way, and they're defending democracy and civil liberties in Iraq against strong resistance. You can reward and honour their extraordinary courage and sacrifices by presenting them

Military Rings

Military Rings are one of the great pieces of jewelry that defines the heroes of our world. The rings can be custom made to show and reflect a career dedicated to the protection of a nation. When  a person wears these rings they are easily identifiable whether active or retired.

How Are Military Rings Made

First there are no two rings the same, unless they are for the same unit or division. Each ring is custom made to suit the soldier's requirements. Quite often they are designed by a loved on as a gift. They are made using
military rings
a dual process. This dual process involves a casting and text combination.

A cast of each unit emblem is created by the company and a combination of these casts are used to create the sides of the ring. The sides of the military rings are often referred to as the shanks.

When the casts are processed then the text which can appear above or below the emblem is engraved. The text can be the name of the person or it can be special dates relevant to the soldier.

Who Wears Military Rings

Military Rings are worn by soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines. They are worn as a symbol of pride in the branch that the individual serves with. For many it is the one ring that has great meaning and makes a perfect retirement gift.

How To Design A Military Ring

The best way to design a military ring is to get a sheet of paper and write down exactly what you want on the ring. Go to a jewelry store and have the finger sized for a wide band ring. These rings are wider than the normal wedding band, so make sure you remember this.
Here is a sample picture of where everything goes on military rings, the same procedure will apply to all custom made rings
