4th Infantry Division

4th Infantry Division was organized in 1917 by MG George H. Cameron. The location was Camp Greene in North Carolina. The division has a very instinctive insignia comprising of four Ivy leaves.
The motto associated with the division is "Steadfast and Loyal" and the division lives very much up to this. Initially there was two brigades the 7th brigade and the 8th brigade. These brigades were active during World War 1 also referred to the Great War.

Training The 4th Infantry Division

Training is always difficult but in 1918 things were tough. These were during the war years and French and British army advisers were drafted in to assist in training methods. The reason for this was the the French and the British were already fighting the Germans since 1914. They had great experience and first hand knowledge of the terrain and battle conditions.

Eventually the training continued overseas in France in the Samer region. Lee-Enfield rifles were issued to the soldiers but they were unhappy with these and command had to reissue soldiers with Springfield rifles.

In 1940 the 4th Infantry Division was reactivated to fight in World War II. The reactivation was this time at Fort Benning, Georgia. This was under the command of MG George Patton.

Battles of the 4th Infantry Division.

Operation Tiger was the training for the battle along the Normandy Coast. Here in 1944 the battle commenced against the Germans and Hitler. The division was the first to land in this specific area and would eventually change the direction of the war.

Life In The Navy

It protects our nation’s interest on both domestic and international waters. The United States Navy is the largest and the most advanced naval force in the world. Even though the giant aircraft carriers and fighter jets attract a lot of public attention, navy’s true power lies in the hands of the brave men and women who serve its various departments. Life in the navy is not cut out for everyone. Let’s take a look at what it takes to be a part of The United States Navy.

Training For Life In The Navy

People who enlist in the Navy first have to pass a boot camp conducted at the Navy’s Recruit Training Command or RTC. Located on the shores of the Great lakes, Illinois, this indoor training facility conducts weapons training, naval skill training, and others. RTC also has something called the VESSEL (Virtual Environments for Ship and Shore Experiential Learning). It’s basically a virtual reality simulation that trains recruits how to respond to different crisis situations.

For people who aspire to become naval officers, training starts at Officer Candidate School or Officer Development School. Officers Candidate School is located in Newport, Rhode Island. This is a 12 week training course that prepares college graduates to become Navy Officers. Daily Duties

Work life of naval personnel is versatile to say the least. They usually have a lot of different types of duties when they are onboard the ship or in the ground. Some of those activities include performing maintenance work, providing security, and keeping a watch for unauthorized vessels and ships.

Life At Sea

As of now navy ship deployments last for 6 months. This means navy personnel have to stay away from their family and share living space with hundreds of other people who are stationed with them. Surviving in these conditions requires a lot of patience and mutual understanding. It’s also important to don an attitude to follow any command given by superior officers or the captain.
Life On Shore
Navy personnel have to live on naval bases when they are on shore. Living quarters are provided for both single sailors and as well as for personnel with families. A standard naval base come equipped with a lot of amenities such as shopping malls, recreational centers, movie theaters, and even golf courses. Naval bases also have state of the art medical facilities for sailors and their family members. All Navy personnel and family members can shop at the Navy Exchange to purchase navy rings, gifts and supplies.
Life After Retirement
Depending on the type of dismissal a Navy sailor received they often enjoy a host of different benefits post-retirement. They get low interest loans for starting small businesses and also have comprehensive healthcare insurance.

a dual process. This dual process involves a casting and text combination.

A cast of each unit emblem is created by the company and a combination of these casts are used to create the sides of the ring. The sides of the military rings are often referred to as the shanks.

When the casts are processed then the text which can appear above or below the emblem is engraved. The text can be the name of the person or it can be special dates relevant to the soldier.

military rings

The best way to design a military ring is to get a sheet of paper and write down exactly what you want on the ring. Go to a jewelry store and have the finger sized for a wide band ring. These rings are wider than the normal wedding band, so make sure you remember this.
Here is a sample picture of where everything goes on military rings, the same procedure will apply to all custom made rings
